When fishing in a float tube for bluegills with an Ultra Light spinning rod, what is your favorite rod length?

Unbreakable fiberglass ice fishing rod 36", especially if jigging involved for any panfish. Backup pole is 4.5' for working bigger fish. I have caught and landed big stripers while trolling with the smaller ice pole- means one has to tire the fish a bit before reeling in.
