Should make the offshore fishing really good with the lack of grass. They should be really schooled up with the lack of cover.

Could be..
But I'm also hearing there is a lot of shore line cover from milfoil and newly submerged bank vegetation... Hope to find out in two weeks. fish

Got to get in contact with a guide for Sept. 3rd !!!..
Be nice to learn some boat lanes and get a good starting pattern to expound on before the cutoff....

Housen always has milfoil and coontail atleast. Lots of guys confuse it with hydrilla. Down year for hydrilla, never a down year on mil foil/coontail unless the lake drops 10ft

^ hay grass is the grass along the banks that grows in the water. Looks like costal hay grass. Grows in long runners.

UPDATE.
Saw where Jay put this on Bass Blaster.
Just got back from fishing several days-- including two half days with Joe Jolson who has guided there for 18 years.
We stayed on the south end and Joe put us on some good numbers of decent fish.. SUPER good guy..
We never saw any "proof" of hydrilla.. There were a couple of times that we saw something out in 12- 15 feet that (might) have been some hydrilla trying to grow.
The milfoil is doing good in places along with the coontail.. It's not everywhere but when you find the c-tail it's growing out to 9-12 feet fish

I picked up a little hydrilla off the bottom in 10 ft of water on my crankbait so there is some there just didn't see much on surface when I fished the other day.

In June there was a silt line at about 15 ft I was seeing on the graph, my guess was that the water was dirty down there due to the high water this year must have choked out the deep hydrilla and it died off. I read somewhere that said the roots usually stay intact and the hydrilla will grow again when the water clears up and conditions are right, hopefully so...

We did see a lot of that salvinia mixed in the haygrass on the downwind areas of the indian mounds, when that stuff was mixed in real thick we didn't get bit around it.
