Got a question for anyone who currently owns this model. I am looking at purchasing one with very low hours but I am very concerned about the ride in ruff water. A friend of mine has a 2010 and it almost killed me in 4 footers coming in one day. I currently have a Skeeter FX 21 and I think the ride is great but the fit and finish does not compare to his Ranger. I need honest answers!

I had a Skeeter 21i which is a better ride in rough water than the FX. I now have a 2014 Ranger Z521C, it is as good if not better than my 21i. You won't be disappointed.

Your friend probably was not a good driver.

There is nous have thing as a bass boat that rides good in 4 footers. Heck a 30 foot offshore boat. Doesn't ride good in 3 or 4 footers.
That said it is all in the driver and I like my 520 Ranger, it does great in rough water and I don't have to worry about the screws coming out or the fiberglass spiderwebbing.

I have a Z520C for sale with 100 hours and its FAST 74-75. The ride is fantastic and it fishes great!

Shoot me a message and we can do a demo in it

Not too many boats have a smooth ride in 4 footers, IMO.

My partner has a 14' Z521 and it rides good in rough water, IMO.

You won't be disappointed in the ride in rough water.

Sorry, my friend. But there is not a bass boat made that is not a rough ride in 4 foot waves. Some are better than others, and I'd think the 521 would be one of the best out there in high wind.

I just purchased a 2016 521c. It rides awesome!! One thing, you are not comparing apples to apples between a 2010 521 and 2015 521c. The 2010 model was 21'3", the 2015 and newer are 21'7". It's a big boat with a lot of deck in front of you. My last boat was a Z520 and I prefer the ride of the 521C

Good Afternoon, I can tell you from experience Ranger is a great riding boat IF and that is a BIG if the Driver knows how to handle a boat in rough water. The way a driver approaches a wave really determines how that ride will end up. I have been on Rayburn in some of the nastiest waves I've seen in fresh water and Scott Meads, handled them really well in his Z521C. You won't be disappointed with the purchase.

Cliff is spot on when he says the driver is a big part of rough water riding. The Z521C should be a good rough water boat. I don't think you will be disappointed. You should go take a ride in one first before spending that much money and make sure you are happy. The rangers are great boats.
