This isn't much of a report and it's mainly a THANK YOU to the local guys that post reports on Cedar Creek. I live between Ray Roberts and Texoma and since those have been flooded most of the summer, we've been going other places to get some fishing in. This was our second venture thru the metro-mess down to the lake.

We did go on Sunday and got on the water around 11:30 (grandson was late getting in from Houston) and fished until about 4:30. We fished around Enchanted Island and saw a ton of fish on the Lowrance but couldn't get bit. I moved to Spillway hump and it was very good to us. The fish seemed to be right on the edge of the drop on the north end. Some of the yellow bass were scattered on top of the hump but the sand bass were on the drops. We spent most of our time there. We caught doubles on occasion, with Dennis' #4 and I usually tie a loop knot above with a curly tail grub just for grins and giggles. The fish were about 50/50 on what they bit. We actually caught and released fish until we were worn out. I would hook them and Jerich would crank them in while I helped him hold the rod. Then we decided to ride around and cool off and look at more of the lake before we loaded up and headed home. Thanks again for the reports and responses here on TFF! The group around Cedar Creek is, by far, the most helpful and informative group I've communicated with.

Some fishermen are very cloak and dagger about their fishing but we have a couple of great fishing mentors at Cedar Creek. I think they are doing it the right way.

What type of fish is the second photo and what did you catch it with?

Thanks for posting.

It's a buffalo. He bottomed out my 20lb scales. I guessed him around 25 or so. He hit the #4 Mepps and took about 10 minutes to wear him down enough to convince him to get in the net so I could get my spinner back. The last time I was on that hump I fought something big like that for a couple of minutes and it pulled loose. I figured it was a hybrid.

Wish CC was easier to get to.

Dennis' open mindedness about sharing locations and info sets the bar high for all of us...we are thrilled to have him!
