More to be announced.....

no bank fishing. if anyone has an open seat please post and you can link up with others. you can fish as many people you want in one craft, but everyone pays an entry and fishes for their own fish (in otherwords this will be individual format, not team).

the format will be a weigh in. we will have 1 weigh in at 11am and a final weigh in at 3pm. i know that alot of people wanted to do a paper/picture format, but the direction we will go from this point is a weigh in. floating livewells, livewell kits, ect are avaliable at most academys, BPS, cabellas, or online. there are other options avaliable to keep you catch alive aswell.

any john boat, float tube, kayak, bass buster type boat, kickboat, water buggy, or other small watercraft is elligable to participate. gas powered outboards are allowed at idle speeds only (this is also a lake law). NO LIVE BAIT. only black bass with a minimum length of 18 inches (also a lake law) should be retained for weigh in. we will use a check it stick and texas parks and wildlife's method for measurement. black bass under 18 inches will not be accepted for weigh in. no dead fish or iced fish will be accepted for weigh in. fee will be 25.00 per angler(includes big bass) and we will fish an individual format. everyone fishes for their own fish, you cannot use a fish that you did not catch during the tournament to weigh in. registration must be completed and entry must be paid by 7am day of the tournament in order to participate.

What we will do is have a weigh in at 11am(weigh in #1). there will be a 3 fish limit per each angler (18 inch minimum applies of course). all fish will be released after the weigh in, and any fish weighed will go down towards your total. we will have the final weigh in (weigh in #2) at 3pm, and any fish you have for weigh in #2 will be combined with weigh the total of you results from weigh in #1, so in reality you can weigh in up to 6 fish (3 at 11am and 3 at 3pm). Again there is a 3 fish limit for each weigh in. Example, if you do not weigh in 3 fish for for the first weigh in, you cannot bring in 6 to the second weigh in. All anglers must report to weigh in, regardless of if you have fish to weigh in or not.

first place will receive 60% of all entries
second place will receive 20% of all entries
third place will receive 10% of all entries
the remaining 10% will go to charity

the biggest bass will win 100% of the big bass pot

there are other prizes that will be up for grabs aswell that will be announced the morning of the tournament.

in the event of a tie:
the winnings will be split, or the anglers involved in the tie can choose to participate in either a "fish off" (first angler to put any size bass in the boat) or a drawing for full rights to the winnings in question. if no fish are weighed in, every one's entry will be refunded (minus 10% for the charitable donation).

hope to see you all there!

I am looking forward to seeing all of the buster bunch from Purtis, aswell as meeting everyone else for the first time. We will try to have a get together in the park the evening before, so if possible you may consider camping friday night. In the event of unfavorable weather, the tournament may be rescheduled for a later date.

Looking forward to fishing with you all,

Brazos

lol, sorry ringfry.

everyone can pre fish the weekend before, or the friday before.

i had to change the date because i can't be there sunday, and it was either move it up a day or reschedule for a later date.

there will also be a large church group at the park on that particular sunday........they will be renting canoes and paddle boats.......fishing the lake when they are there is comparable to trying to fish lewisville on a summer saturday day while the yahoos are running up and down the lake on jet fleas and yatchs hootin and hollerin'. i have been there when the church groups come, they will get anywhere from 10-20 canoes/paddle boats out on the lake (full of loud obnoxious teenagers) and it really puts a damper on fishing becuase they will come right up on you while you are fishing, they are loud, and they just dont know fishing etiquette.

sorry for the change guys. thanks for your understanding, looking forward to meeting you all.

Hey Brazos B, I made up some sign-in and weigh-in sheets on the computer, and will bring them if you need them. I also have a small dry-erace board I'm bringing. I thought it would be cool to use to write a persons 3 fish weight on, and set it in front of them and take the picture with them holding the fish. I'll be bringing my digital camera also. Hope for good weather!

Brazos,

Obviously, it all depends on the weather, but are you still thinking of camping? Let's sync up later this week. I'm hoping to take Friday off and prefish Friday.

I fished Celburne state park lake 3 weeks ago. It was a sunny, bright day with air temps in the 40s. I'd never been before so I thought I would just check it out and cruse around a bit, sure is a pretty little lake. I didn't expect to catch much. As it turns out, I wont be able to make it to the tourney, but I thought I'd share what I learned with those of you who have not fished it. I did pretty well on Char. cranks mostly on the West side at the back of the one good sized cove, also off the points on the west side. (SLOW retrieve). Carolina rigging the points with dark char and purple ring frys worked also. The Dam looks great, but I only caught one along it. Fish were mostly in 7 to 12 ft. I caught around 10 almost all were healthy and fat 15-17 inch fish. I did not catch an over, but I bet at least one or two get weighed in. I defintely want to give this little lake another look in the Spring. Hope ya'll have good weather and catch a few.

Big Leslie, sorry you're not going to make it. If this weather doesn't straighten up real quick, I probably will not make the trip myself. Right now I have 3" of ice on my boat and my pit is frozen over. AAArrrrGGGhhhhh
