I see a lot of Tacomas in a lot of pictures and I've been looking at them for a while myself. My question is who/where is the place to buy? I know it doesn't have anything really to do with kayaks or fishing....but it could...

I bought mine used from Toyata of Rockwall. After shopping around for a while that just happened to be where I found something I liked at a fair price. No other reason.

I got mine from Toyota of Richardson. I bought used. Ive been a big fan of toyota trucks my whole life. I personally love the size of the tacomas. F150/1500 doesnt fit in my garage. The Tacoma does with room for 2 kayaks.

I got mine at Toyota of Lewisville... mainly because they're close and had a pretty good price.

I got mine from Robbins in Texarkana. I had a short waiting period on it because I didn't want any of the options or packages on it. None of the other dealers would do the work to look for one. Because of that I saved a ton of money. Also bought the 4 door longbed because I knew I'd be sleeping in the bed and hauling kayaks and what not.

I have had two Tacos and I probably won't buy another. I still think they are great trucks but you can get a full sized truck with comparable gas mileage for a comparable price now.

But will you get the dependability, longevity, and resale value that a Toyota has? Probably not. Toyota holds its value extremely well, better than Ford,Chevy, and Dodge to name a few. And that's an important factor to consider if you ask me.

Toyota does make full sized trucks you know. They are called Tundras.

And for what it's worth, the newer F150s are holding their value pretty well.

Buy a Tacoma. They are great trucks. After driving two of them I personally would prefer a full sized truck. That's just my opinion though.

I have a full size pickup now, I'm just looking for something smaller, lighter, and better gas mileage to "run around" and haul the kayak around in.

I have had two Tacomas a 2006 and a 2012 both were good vehicles both were 4x4 dbl cabs. They both were smaller and lighter than a full size pickup, and both got better gas mileage than my full sized pickups but not by much.Around town difference was 1 to 1.5 mpg difference at best.On the hwy 2 mpg on average.

If you don't have passengers often tacos are great. If you do, I wouldn't recommend one.

But if you do pull the trigger, you're getting a great little truck.
