Myself and Mike "USMC-GY" fished Lake Dunlap the other day and the bite was good. We caught a very nice variety of Bluegill,Redear,and Crappie. I went after the Gills and Mike targeted his favorite the Crappie. Mike ended up catching 8 keepers and a couple just under 10". I caught a bunch of nice fat Bluegill in the 8 inch range and several nice Redear with the biggest going just over 10". The Crappie were caught using Crappie Magnets,purple/yellow in color with an 1/8 oz jig head. Crappie were located inside boat slips in water 10 to 12 feet deep. The Bluegill and Redear were caught on worms with a bottom technique. The sunnies were located inside boat slips in water 10 to 12 feet deep. Most of the fish were released and Mike kept a few for the frying pan. We fished from 7:30am till 11:30am. We finished the morning off with a GREAT brunch at the El Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in New Braunfels. A good day on Lake Dunlap catching a super combination of fish. It just don't get any better.

Thanks Andrew,Bob,and Wade for the replies. Andrew: I have accesses to 10 docks on Dunlap and several on Mcqueeney. I don't have any accesses to docks on Placid.

That's awesome. Do you find certain docks hold more gills than Crappie and vice versa? Do you have a Rio dock

Some docks hold certain fish more than others. It also depends a lot on what time of year you fish em. We have a couple of docks that we (Me and Mike) named "Trophy Docks" due the number of fish we have caught off of those docks that were over 10 inches. (Bluegill,Redear,and Rios.) Also caught a 15 lb Bluecat a few years ago on ultra light tackle off of those docks.

Thanks "Gitter" for the reply. The Crappie bite has been good all year long. Catching some just about every trip I make. When fishing for em usually get between 10 to 20 fish each trip.
