Navarro Mills is finally open again!
Went to Crappie Point this evening. Got two quick bites off a dark blue and chartrues tube jig in about ten feet of water and then it went quiet. Switched to a drop shot about 15" off the bottom. Used an Aberdeen hook (not sure of the size, maybe 1/0 tops) wacky rigged about 1.5" of gulp night crawlers and got constant hits on it but was unable to get the hook set. I tried threading the section of night crawler and had the same results. Maybe the hook was too big? My better half was getting tired so we left before I could a different size hook. Bottom line, jig hook was smaller and I caught fish. Should have stayed with the smaller hook.
Might try again tomorrow.
As an aside, the marina is open but not marina shop. It opens next weekend. Just use the box to pay. $10 /adult, $5 for a child. Price has gone up.
