So I got myself a weekend job at one of the big golf courses here in Okie land...:) And part of the deal is that I can fish their ponds when I'm done working...and it keeps me outta my wife's hair so she can do her thing...:) And any money I make I get to spend on what else....fishing gear..!!

So I'm thinking that a trick worm, a frog,a Manns minus 1 and a Lake Fork fluke would be good to throw and see what the bite is. Am I on the right track with my selection to start out with??

Opinions welcome...

Don't fish ponds with pond baits. Weightless senko, yellow magic, frog if vegetation is present, shakey head rattle snake if no grass, flukes are good to hotter it gets just dead stick those plastics out there

Favorite pond bait is Little Dipper on Gamakatsu weighted EWG hook, followed closely by a wacky rigged senko then a popper for the topwater bite.

Golf Course Bass Fishing 101;

a. Fish golf course ponds that you may or may not have access to every chance you get and enjoy your sore thumb.

b. Do not talk about fishing golf course ponds that you may or may not have access to.

I used to sneak out on to the Las Collinas golf course in the summers when I was a kid, and we would absolutely kill them on tiny torpedos

Weightless fluke. If you throw a top water, let the ripples settle after your cast before moving the bait. They usually hit after you twitch it twice.

Small spinnerbait. Either SK Lil Money or H&H. You really don't need anything else.

All my golf course fishing was done at night. Frogs and poppers always produced well for me.

So had several blowups on a frog but nothing inhaled it....and they were big fish. This was in the early morning. When I got off work I hit the biggest pond and threw the worm...no takers. Switched over to the Mann's minus 1 and BAM. 4lbr, 3 3 lbrs, and a couple of 2's...:) All within about 30 minutes. Talked to a guy who lives on the course and he showed pics of a huge 11 lber he got...and showed the big pond he got it on. Gonna hit it next weekend.

Thanks to all for the feedback...

Wow sounds incredible! If you haven't already trim you're legs on the frog at least an inch. I find it helps when they are short striking frogs, because when they key on the bait you want them getting more hook and less legs. Also after a few missed blowups you need to bend the hooks out with pliers to where they are parallel to the body of the frog. That's pretty much a must frog fishing.

I think you're 10lber is coming on a frog. If it were me, I would be throwing that non stop.
