My son is attending Fish Camp as an incoming freshman. I came along to help him since he is in a wheelchair and needs some assistance. I didn't attend Fish Camp when I went to A&M many years ago, but I have stayed away from the activities so he could have his experience. I chose to make my own fish camp. Not sure this is what they had in mind, but it is working for me.

JoeFriday - I attended fish Camp in 1966 and my son and daughter attended prior to their freshman years also. Your son will learn a lot about A&M and Aggie traditions, and I commend you for letting him have his space and experience. Looks like your 2015 fish camp is going pretty well! Continued luck to you and your son. Gig 'Em. DK '70

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Thanks DK! You've got me beat by a few years. grin Gig 'em. '89.

Yes, my Fish Camp has gone swimmingly well. I've done pretty good each day and today dialed in and wrecked them. It's kept me busy in the evenings after I finished work while he did his thing. banana

Class of '96 here and Fish Camp is when I realized I made a great choice for a university. Congrats to you and your son. Being wheel chair bound isn't the restriction it used to be but surely still an obstacle.

Glad you are making great use of your time. That lake looks beautiful.

Gig 'em,
JB

Joe, you're an Aggie? Makes me like you even more. Some of the finest people I know are Aggies and one of my best friends is a proud Aggie. Thanks for all your help you have given me on questions about my Skeeter. You are a class act.

I attended Fish Camp in 1977! Congrats to your son for his acceptance to Texas A&M. Tell him if he ever needs any help he can come to the Sanders Corps of Cadets Center on campus and ask for the Bass Colonel!

Thanks for that Bass Colonel! I'll tell him. We're trying to find attendants for him now. We've got a few, but need a few more. He's so excited about becoming independent. My second cousin is one of the Ross Volunteers this year. My cousin was in Heavens 11. Small world.

JB, so true. Accessibility has come a long way, but there are still obstacles even today. We have been blessed buy our son. I always told him that we'll do anything he wants to do. The way we do it might have to be a little different though, and that is how he has tackled life so far.
