I was on the water for about 5 hours today. Cedar Creek is now just over a foot low. Water temps were 87 to 88. It was sunny and hot with a light east wind most of the day. Weekday boat traffic finally seems to be easing up a bit, but I bet there will still be lots of folks on the lake this weekend.

It was 10:00am by the time I got launched. I decided to just fish bridge pilings today. I figured that staying in the shade would be easier on both man and dog, since I was fishing in the middle of the day. That may have made for a tougher bite, but I haven't been on many fish lately, so it was probably going to be a tough day anyway.

I ended up with 8 keepers. There were no really big fish, but most were solid keepers. I caught them 8 to 10 feet deep, in 9 to 20 feet of water. They bit a 3/32 oz jig, rigged with my homemade plastic shad. Dark gray shad was the best color. Most of the bites were really light, feeling just like the shad I kept bumping into with my bait all day. All fish were released today.
