Was out this morning fishing for blackbass but the sandbass were in the mood. Not boiling top water action but lots of surfacing. Best thing about it was the quality. Many sandbass were above 14" and fat. They were hitting everything thrown. Spoon, chartreuse slab, small Alabama rig with road runners, and a Pop-R.
Spent a lot of time recently trying to find the on Eagle Mountain and a few other lakes but it was the best I've seen this summer.

Lake worth has been terrible after all the rain. Managed one blackbass today. Most fish were caught in the two slues on the NE bank right off the dam. Most were pretty shallow, but then we also caught some right near the dam. That whole end of the lake was alive.

they will school up alot by the bouys, and can stay on top for some time. Mostly smaller. Have not seen them yet this year, i live close, but have not fished it much this year.

Wow, I was just over close by there a few days before that and saw nothing! Nice pics.
Sandbass are weird like that. A lot of times they can be scattered and really hard to find --- and then one day they can bunch up and school in the hundreds of thousands, spanning several hundred yards wife, and you can't miss. Sounds like that's what you found.
