Wanting to get a new drop shot rod, the Dobyn's Fury 7' Medium Light seemed like a good rod to get for the price point but wanted to know some personal thoughts on it, anybody have a good recommendation within $150? Anything helps!

Give Ron at reel time rods at fork a call ! Great rod super sensitive and one heck of a warranty!

I would recommend the Reel Time Dropshot rod for sure. I use the dobyns champion series and like Rons rod better. Seems more sensitive and casts a mile for a dropshot rod. Have no experience with the fury line but do the champion and savvy series. Spend a few dollars more than the fury and get a way better rod IMO. Don't skimp on quality when dropshotting. You want to be able to feel the slightest of bites and difference in bottom structure easily, his rod will do that.

Another vote for Ron's Reel Time Rods. I love mine. You won't be sorry.

I like my St Croix AVS69MLXF for drop shot rigs and other finesse rigs.

tie fluoro leader (12 to 15ft) to 20 to 30 pound braid and then whatever rod and reel you use will be enhanced in my opinion.
