I am taking the family fishing friday and saturday and wondered where to stay? Do they have cabins right on the water with a private dock? Where do you guys stay / camp when you go bass fishing?

The only dock is at the Marina and the only lakeside lodging is at Lakeview Lodge. I would recommend that you give them a call as they can provide you with several options. Its a gorgeous lake and a great fishery. The website there is http://beaversbend.com/lakeview.html or call them at 800-435-5514. Just let them know what you are wanting and they can help you get it done.

There are cabins all over but the only ones close to water is up north, pretty remote and they are on top of a mountain, have to walk a couple hundred yards to water. Holla at me 918-571-8881 if you need a fishing guide. Lots of crappie on brush.

We usually get a cabin in the park. Might be hard getting one with the kiddos still out of school but I've had pretty good luck calling the day before and getting a cancellation. If you've never fished the lake before, I highly recommend calling GarySHO. I've used him several times and have always caught lots of fish.

gary I would love to get a guide but i need to run my boat and wont have much time on the water. I'm going to try early AM and late PM for some large mouth. I've never trout fished so I might give it a try too. I am going down here to see if its a good fit for a family vacation for next year. Hopefully it will live up to the hype.

I think you'll love it. It really is a beautiful place! I like to trout fish the river, then take the boat on the lake. Make sure to be careful on the lake, as there's lots of islands, several under water. There's some "rough" looking people around town. But, lots of friendly people too. If you fish the river, stop by Beavers Bend Fly Shop and talk to Coach Eddie. Super nice guy!!! He'll give you a report too.
There is several really nice cabins to rent for your family. I think there's a guy on here that has some... Seems like I remember reading a post last year...
