Nice catches. I am heading down to Braunig tomorrow, hopefully have some success. Don't think I am going to try the bubble gum though. Catfish are one intriguing species.

Good luck at out there! Ive only fished there a handful of times and never did very good. I know Calaveras a little better after a couple guided trips. I don't suggest even really trying for catfish in Braunig. Im sure theres good eaters there, but its just not the "trophy" fish quality place to fish. But good luck out there! im sure the reds are doing good there too.

There have been several reds caught this year with crazy spots! Something to do with being hatchery fish and stocked. Yea the bubble gum actually worked lol. Pretty crazy too me too. Gunna try it some more I think lol.

A lot of ppl with down riggers will troll. I don't have down riggers and don't like to troll. I use the electronics and find schools sometimes. But at calaveras there is a wall at the mouth of the channel too the plant. I usually start there casting silver spoons. Maybe free line tilapia.. If they aren't there, then I tried the coves too the right of the dam and cast spoons into the channels on drop offs.
