Just got a 10ft jon boat looking for a safe area to beable to take it out. All I have is a 30lbs trust trolling motor any tips would be greatfull!!!

I would start with protected areas from too much wind or waves. The type of battery you have new/used? I wouldn't go further than your willing to paddle back. After a few trips you will start to learn your batteries limitations. Have fun!

It's not the DFW area but I use to fish the dam at Navarro mills in a 10ft. FB. I would put in at the cove over by the headquarters and did pretty well. Remember your boat must be registered if it has a motor on it. Good luck smile
