FWIW I would only use clips till I found the color, weight size, working that day,
then I would tie DIRECTLY to the lure. I learned my lesson using
clips.

Tend to get bits of vegetation clumped up on them...particularly "snot moss". Try something with a snap ring style connection to the lure's line tie. 2cents

can also get them with a ball bearing swivel:

I just use some random sebile snaps I bought on closeout a couple of 25 packs of them, tie them on if swapping through several cranks to find the bite, then tie of to lure tie once I know what they want, no need for the extra hardware then

How easy is it to open/close these things? Never used anything exactly like them, only the common snap or snap-swivel. From pictures looks to me like they'd be real difficult to use.
?

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I use that style a lot crappie fishing with small jigs on braid. Keeps from having to retie. Loose maybe a jig in 100 fish. Although I have caught fish where on the hook set part of their lip gets caught in the snap..

I wouldn't use them on bass lures. The snap is so small its tough to hold tight enough to get a lure clipped in.

They are absurdly simple... they aren't snaps, they are fast-tach, you just wind around it and you're on... like a corkscrew style bait keeper, only you just wind your lure eye onto the screw lock part. Goes on as simple as the ones you posted, only it doesn't have the ability to be pulled free or open up like that. Just an improved version of that.

The snaplock clips I use are a pain in the arse to open and close for the most part though, but they are very heavy duty as well

I like these. Lately I use them for hard plastics only.

Found these when I lived on the coast and fished the bays growing up. I cant find them anywhere local, so I order a ton at a time online.

Idk why the link isnt working. But they are called Norton Quick Twist.

More for Fly Fishing I believe. I think that is what they were originally setup for.
