I've got a really clean 1999 TR 20 with a 2005 225 optimax with only 230 hours. Since I bought it this spring I've added:

112 Fortrex with long shaft
Recessed trolling motor pedal
Hydrowave
(2) 1199 KVD Humminbirds with SI and mapping
Dek-it mount for front graph
Balzout mount for console graph
Humminbird 360 at the bow
New seats
(2) 8' Minn Kota Talons
New seats
(3) new batteries
The carpet and locks are original but fine. Everything else has basically been upgraded. I may have an opportunity to get into a newer boat for next year and curious how to price a rig like this. Not sure that adding the retail value of all the upgrades to the NADA of my boat/motor is realistic.

Helpful advice is appreciated....Chris

With those type of upgrades and a newer motor, I think you're probably looking at $21k-$22k. JMHO.

That boat with a 1999 motor and no upgrades is probably $15k if it's clean. Add $2k for the newer motor and $5k for the $10k worth of upgrades and that's my guess on a fair price. Might have trouble getting low 20s for a 1999 boat, but I think you can if you're patient and find the right buyer, it'll be a fair price for both of you. If you're looking to unload it quick, list it for $16k and keep your phone on.

I think this is the best advice. It's going to be tough to get someone to pay $20k for a 1999 boat with a 10 year old motor, unless there is a brand new motor on it with warranty, and even then guys who have re-powered and then sold have trouble selling. Your boat has a lot of upgrades, which don't necessarily translate to dollar for dollar in return, and it would be obnoxious to list out retail for each, that is always a big turn-off for buyers and signals you will be difficult to to deal with and are in love with your boat. Every time I have seen a guy list out retail for every item on his boat, it takes months to sell it. A lot depends on condition of boat and color scheme too. If it's purple, well.......... good luck to you. If it's super clean, then I see no reason why you couldn't get $16k-$17k for it, maybe even $18k. Just my opinion, good luck!

These are all pictures I took the day I brought it home. It's before all the upgrades. I recently had arm surgery which has put me down for the season. Don't want to pull it out of my shop just to take new pictures and roll it back in. I bought it from the original owner who is a friends dad and an older gentleman. He really took care of the boat and rarely ran it anywhere near full speed.

Where are you located? And are you still running the 4 blade? Or have you switched to a 3 blade?

I am actually up in Washington state. The original owner ran the four blade set up and topped out at 74 to 75 mph. I have messed with a three blade 26 inch Tempest but it isn't quite enough now that I've added a extra battery and the talons. Still working on that.

I understand it's a haul to WA. Like I said, just looking at ideas on how to price it. Don't want to waste anyone's time. This is just the BEST fishing site there is and figured I'd get great input.

The market in Texas compared to Washington is completely different. I the pricing information you were given is about dead on for the market down here, but I don't see it bringing as much in washington. Expecially considering the season is almost over up there. Looks like a great boat Glws

My guess is that boat should sell for approx $16-$17K. All the new upgrades unfortunately doesn't value the boat as much as your investment into it. No doubt it will help sell it, though. The problem lies in people coming up with a loan for that much for as old of boat as it is. Banks just don't loan that much on older boats. Now, if someone has money laying around and then try to borrow half or 3/4 of what you plan to ask, then it might work out well. GL!
