I'm looking for a place where I can drive on the beach, near galveston, and fish for a couple nights, I have a capable 4x4 and I'm not worried about getting stuck, just don't really know where to go down there anymore. Any help is appreciated!

Surfside.
I'd go a little further down to Matagorda, they are murdering trout in the surf right now.

Bolivar is open for camping also. after you get past Gilchrist the beach is wide open to Sabine Pass. also not much police protection, best done in groups.

Take co. rd 2031 to the beach, take a left. If you look on google maps there is a cut back in to the bay. FWD only, but you can surf fish, and if you have a kayak you can bay fish. Permit required for the beach. If you want Trout, stay on the beach, they're thick.

Where do you get the beach permits from?
