This Thursday my Dad and I are leaving for the Ouachita river in Arkansas to try our luck for some big fish! We will be setting limb lines up and down the river and fishing from the sand bar we decide to camp on. Any of you ever fish the Ouachita? Anyways, I'll post and update next Monday!

my son and I go once every summer....we were up there in july fishing 15 jugs on the river above the lake...we caught 4 nice flatheads.....32...14....12...and 9 lbs....we just use live perch. beautiful area up there.

Good deal man! I'm pretty excited to check it out. Thanks for the tip! Oh, and where did you put in at? We're gonna Park the truck at Ouachita river Haven resort and try to go from there

I know big blues are there i seen a 99lber come out of there
If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....

i usually put in north of mt ida at hwy 27 where the river runs into the lake and go up the river from there

Update; Had many boat troubles to start the trip, got that fixed and found a camping spot. After this we caught TONS and I mean bucket fulls of shad. Then we fished! First fish was from Dad, had a 25 lber that broke off lifting into the boat. Then I caught a 10#. And from there it was all eaters. Saw at least 5 bald eagles and a couple dozen deer. All in all it was a great trip and a beautiful area
