 Navarro Mills Lake needs HELP.....

Saturday August 8, 2015 is clean up day at NM. The US Army Corps of Engineers is asking people to come out and help with cleaning up the parks by picking up cans, bottles and paper. Everyone is meeting in Liberty Hill Park (Dawson side of the lake) at the Pavilion. There will be a meeting starting at 8:00 a.m. to outline what is going to happen & clean up will end at 1:00 p.m. Plenty of cold water will be furnished and a hot dog dinner is planned. So bring a lawn chair and help out. Lake level is 1.4 ft above normal so it want be long before the parks are open and let the crappie fishing begin.
See everyone Saturday......
Crappie fishing... what else is there ??

Clean Up Day went off without hitch. Around 100 volunteers attended picking up lots of trash and consumed 15#s of hot dogs with all the trimmings. Thanks goes out to all involved and the businesses that gave fixings for the dinner & lots of water.
Special thanks goes out to Peggy Kindrick (of Peggys Place) for rounding up all the food, drinks and organizing the feeding of all the people and the regular volunteers that work at the Corp. on a regular bases. Oak Park and Liberty Hill Park should be open to boaters, fishermen and the general public Aug. 14, 2015. Thanks again for helping clean up Navarro Mills Lake parks.
Getting the sign up table ready.. People signing up to get started.. Maps being view to see where each group is to go.. Alton, head of the Corp. of Engineers at Navarro Mills, speaking to the volunteers and Steve waiting his turn to address the crowd Navarro Mills .6 above normal. All big gates are closed, mud gates are open releasing 373 cfs.
Crappie fishing... what else is there ??

NEWS UPDATE: Oak Park and Liberty Hill Park will open Friday but, you can not launch a boat at Oak Park. You must go to Liberty Hill Park, there will be 1 boat ramp open to the public.
