Been a while since I hit a realistic fly so here is the result. People often ask me why I tie these realistic patterns if I am not going to fish them, the answer is simple. I like the challenge and the intricate thread work helps to keep my fingers nimble for tying fishing flies. This stonefly took about 5 hours to tie so you also need a lot of patience
Hope you like
Mike

Museum quality. Just what do you do with them?

I just keep them for shows etc for people to see and often take orders for them framed for homes and offices
