Spent last week in the Eastern Sierra's of California, where I learned to trout fish when I was I kid. When we were younger, my dad and grandpa would take us kids up to the Eastern side of the Sierras around 10 times a year, to chase trout and mule deer. Getting back up in those mountains brought back a lot of good memories.

With the drought and rivers so low, I want able to fish the areas I used to. There is a trophy area I was wanting to fish, but with on 15 CFS flows, it want worth stressing the big fish in the summer heat.

I decided to fish some smaller rivers where the flows were better, and the water was cooler. Here is one of the Browns I caught on the last day of the trip

Here are two photo's of one of the smaller lakes in the area. We went out one morning in the boat, trying to catch some fish on the fly rod. We ended up catching a big old skunk, but the sunrise made the morning worth it
