What is the minimum lb. test you prefer for draggers like t-rig, c-rig, jig etc.?

Depends on body of water.

I chose 12 pound, if I choose to drag a light t-rig or c-rig I still want to maintain good cast distance and feel the fish vs weight. Obviously I'm not going to cast ad drag 1/2oz weights on 12Ib line. But I will a 3/8oz. Also on spinning gear. Caught several that way

I'll throw 10lb fluoro t-rig all day *shrug* people go so overkill on line in Texas lakes with mostly open water... It really impacts your baits action a lot... I'm as confident with 10lb line as I am with 20lb line in 95% of fishing conditions probably.

Those mesquite trees at Squaw will wreak havoc on some damn line though! Haha 20lb big game and retie often for that nasty stuff!

Also worth noting trig and crig hugely different in line requirements as well as crig usually utilizing a lighter leader so mainline weight being light is pointless really.

Trig on the other hand? I have had days where I'm on patterm and 2 rods rigged identical, same bait same weight, the 15lb fluoro wont boat fish and the 10lb will get bit every other cast. Days like that will make you believe it matters quickly.
