Hello all.

A few weeks ago, Bass Pro Shops Grapevine was contacted by the City of Grapevine in hopes that we could help them with a large order of landing nets for a flood cleanup project that they were planning. They also mentioned that if anyone wanted to volunteer in the cleanup that they could really use the help. Long story short, due to my involvement with the kayak angling community, I was asked to take the ball and run with it.

On Saturday, September 12th the City Of Grapevine will be holding a massive cleanup effort on Lake Grapevine and the surrounding areas from 8am to 12pm noon. Bass Pro Shops will be out there to help, and I am looking for a handful of kayak anglers to join Matt Scotch (our kayak pro staffer)and myself. If any of you guys are fans of the store and would like to paddle with us for the day, we would love to have you join us (I also have BPS shirts to give to our volunteer team). Please feel free to comment here, send me a PM, or email me (kdbrown@basspro.com) if you are interested in volunteering.

Now, I would also like to extend this invite to any of the other kayak shops around town. If you guys want to put together teams and pitch in that would be awesome. This is certainly not a Bass Pro exclusive operation, so really the door is wide open for anyone to help. In fact, if anyone needs the contact information for the city's Volunteer Coordinator, I would be happy to forward that over.

This is obviously a great cause, and a really nice opportunity for the local kayak anglers to pull together and help clean up one of our most cherished local lakes.

In fact, they are holding "custom cleanup" days pretty much any day.

Starting now, and ending around October, you can set up a volunteer cleanup of your own.

If you guys want to get together on another date, that can be arranged.

The "main" cleanup day is September 12 and their will be, I imagine, quite a big crowd.

Cleanup is next Saturday.

We will be meeting at Oak Grove Soccer Fields, off of Oak Grove Loop at 8:00am.

From there, we will go wherever we are needed, launch, and start cleaning.

We will be having lunch back at the soccer fields starting around 11:30am.
