If you get a chance look up on Icast the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130X.
Looks like a standard Tarpon but with the same pod as the ATAK so you can fit a TM or the pedal drive when it comes out. Has the air pro seat but stationary.
I'm beginning to hate WS because they keep coming out with cool kayaks I can't afford!

That's a sweet ride. I can't wait to see the new features in the Ride 135.

Do you have any information on the pedal drive?

I'd like to be able to switch back and forth. I mostly fish lakes, but my parents are close to Whitney and the in-laws are near the Colorado so it would be nice to be able to have a kayak that was designed to be paddle powered.

LoL Jimbo, WS "hooked" ya! Take an objective look at the "new" design. Not a whole lot different than a Ride (for example) except the extra cost. It all boils down to kayak, paddle, water, fish...everything else is extra

Anyone know how this one is going to compare to the ATAK and how it would do as a standing and fishing kayak?

It's 34" wide so I have to think they did that so someone could stand but of course it's not on the market yet.

The seat has been redesigned as the Air Pro Lite. It is similar to the max seats but without hi/low capabilities. This yak is built more for speed to keep in the Tarpon tradition, but stability will be no where close to the ATAK. We will have one at the Mariner Sails demo day on April 30th at Little Elm Park.

Cool, I'll be sure to check it out when I can. Right now I'm too busy to make it to Dallas to try out kayaks but I'm interested in hearing what people have to say about it.

I'm currently looking at the Diablo Amigo, WS ATAK, and the Tarpon 130X.

I have an AT Fishstix 240cm paddle so the ATAK would be a good fit but if I got Amigo or 130X, I'll be buying a new paddle if I need to.

Of course, it's important to demo the different kayaks first before buying if possible.

Any idea on the stability vs a Ride 115/135?

I have rented both of those and I was able to stand OK in both.

I'm mostly interested in the 130X as a faster kayak for going further with the possibility of standing if the water is calm enough.

The pedal drive will not fit into the pod as first thought last August. The Torqeedo Helix motor will though.

Im not 100% sure on the retail date, but I think it may be this month. I would call Mariner Sails and see when orders can be placed.
