My Sister-In-Law, Norma came up from College Station and brought my granddaughter, Allura for a few days.
I'd been hearing "I WANNA GO CATCH SOME FISH" from Allura since school let out.

Tuesday 8-4
We got on the water about 7 after a great breakfast at Connie's in Alba
Although the bite was slow, we managed to put 38 in the box for them to take home



Allura and Norma both picked up the slow presentation very quickly



Wednesday 8-5

We ate a good breakfast at Oak Ridge Marina and got on the water about the same time
The 1st spot we fished only produced dinks, but the girls were having fun, so I stayed there longer than I should have

The second spot produced some better fish for them.

The 3rd spot paid off pretty good

All the girls caught some nice fish, but Belinda & Allura spanked them




Bill Dance doesn't have anything on this girl, she kissed every dink she caught and had to release
For an 11yr old girl, she's a pretty darn good stick





I spent a lot of time getting girls unhung and tying on new jigheads, but it was worth it

What I learned was if you mark fish and catch 1 or 2, stay on them and fish SLOW
The larger fish we caught came after we had been on the pile for 30-45 minutes

Great tip on staying on the pile longer after wading through all the dinks.
Most of the time we would move to the next one looking for bigger fish.
That girl is gonna have plenty of braggin rights when she goes back to school!
