Can anyone post pictures? Do you not fish below it? Seen this mentioned in another thread and it got me curious.

baitfish can't survive under it, so mostly no. Most advise I read says to find structure/cover intersecting around the point of the thermocline as the water right at it will be the coolest, most oxygen rich water available, and any cover/structure will represent holding points for bait/ambush points for bass... I'm far form an expert on it, just passing along info I've observed as I read through these threads and articles on it. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/thermocline.htmlOne such example.

water below the thermocline is oxygen deficient but you can catch fish under it. As Mulholland stated the best is structure right at the cline.

Second Sonar Return - The Second Return is a term that describes the appearance of a second sonar return below the primary sonar return (bottom contour) at exactly twice the true depth. The second return is caused by the some sonar energy bouncing off the bottom once, rebounding to the water surface and then traveling back down to the bottom to be reflected again. Second returns are more common in shallow water and over hard bottoms; it is actually possible to see a third sonar return under some circumstances. The second return provides useful information to help determine bottom hardness, as areas with harder bottoms will generally create a second return. The second return can be used as a guide to set Sensitivity when in shallower water. http://www.fishing-usa.com/fishfinder-sonar-and-gps-glossary.htmlSonar turned up to detect hard bottom likely, again, everything based on my liited experience and way too much time studying junk on internet

It is perfect to show fish, thermocline, depth, bottom hardness, plankton, etc. It wasn't broken so I didn't fix it.

Didn't mean to imply it had been turned up by the user... both of my units on default show second bottom returns at default sensitivity unless on very soft bottoms or range not set to show deep enough depth for second return (usually the only time it won't be seen), simply meant to say that is what it is and explain that particular phenomenon/occurrence. Great graphs btw, thanks for sharing!
