Lake coeur d'alene in Idaho? I'm going up there the first week of September and saw this lake on the map. Was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the lake. Looks like it has a lot of potential.

That lake made the top bass lakes a few years ago by BASS. Maybe top 5. I've always wanted to fish it because it looks great. If you believe what you read in BASS, it should be a great trip

Bingo, Lived in Hayden, ID from 1996 thru 2003. Fished the American Bass Assoc. Tournament Trail on all the N. Idaho Lakes -Hayden, Pend O'reille, Twin Lakes, Coeur D Alene, etc. for 5 years. For more local info you can stop in at Fins & Feathers, or Black Sheep Hunting/fishing shops. Can get licenses in both too ( if you go South end -don't forget to get the Indian Permit too - they own the South end of the lake now). I'd probably fish the South end of the lake & Chain Lakes area. Lots of nice Northern Largemouths in the shallows there. My Idaho personal best in Idaho came from Kilarney Lake (the upper most Chain Lake) - a 7-10, and most all tournaments are won with 20+ lbs. up there. There's a reason that BASS lists that lake, LOL. And the scenery, well, get ready for some real clear water, and fabulous sights - I miss it a lot! Send me a PM, with questions -I got more.

I've driven around it. My guess is cold water and probably a walleye, smally, trout type lake. No visable structure.
