I am wanting to put an inline filter and a water separator/filter on my boat. 1992 Ranger w/ 1992 Mariner 175efi. Would the water separator also act as a filter for small particles? What style or brands do yall recommend?
Also, the motor has a screw on fuel filter, so would I need one in line also?

Yes it will do the job both ways. I change mine twice a year.

Your factory spin on fuel filter - water separator is good enough. Water warning on the bottom of the filter.
