Just moved back to Texas. Been gone a while for work in little rock, arkansas. I am wanting to take my son fishing somewhere but it's been so long I'm not sure where to take him. I remember going to the Texas city dike and San Luis pass as a kid. If anybody had some input on a spot I would appreciate it. All fishing will be done from land.

the Dike is cleaner than ever, but it cost's $5 on week ends. the piers in Galveston are pretty user friendly. Pelican island is another choice.

Thanks. Do they consider Friday a weekend at the dike? Never been to pelican island.

The dike would be best bet. Also while wading skyline drive I've seen people fishing from the bank and catching fish also. Pine gully park in seabrook also has a pier. Good luck and good for you dad for getting your son out there.
