I would like to add a separate FUEL/WATER separator to the tank fuel output line in my boat. Seen the Moeller and Sierra.

What would you recommend to use on a Mercury Optimax 175?

I've had a Racor on my last two boats. No fuel related problems. Very happy with them.

I was also looking at Racor. What model did you use? 320R Series?

Something like this?

The vacuum gauge has a tell-tale needle to help determine when filter needs changed.

The filter i'm looking at has a 60 GPH flow rating. Any idea what is the flow required for the Mercury Optimax 175?

Is that one metal or plastic? I bought a moeller clear site from Academy and the manifold piece is plastic (looked like agonized al) with a metal threaded filter adapter pressed into it. It came apart the first time I put a new filter on it...

Just an FYI Mercury doesn't recommend adding a second fuel filter to Optimaxes the onboard unit is a fuel/water seperator.
