I marked a waypoint on humviewer sonar recordings and when i took SD card out and put back into unit it didnt show up.

Do i need to save it somehow?

You did not create the waypoint on the recording, you created it on the Humviewer software.
When you create a waypoint in HumViewer, you have to EXPORT it to a memory card saved as a Humminbird GPX file.
Then you load that to HumminbirdPC so it can be put in the Matrix folder when it is copied to a memory card so the unit can read it.

Exporting and importing GPS data to the unit is done with the files in the Matrix folder that either the unit creates or HumminbirdPC creates.

If you have an ONIX, it will read the GPX file directly without being in a Matrix folder.
