Been fun! Catching fish pretty steady. This morning got 3 back-to-back-to-back in the 2 lb range. 15-16 inchers and fat! Lot of baitfish. This lake is gonna be good in a year or so. if the water stays fairly up.

That's a big "if" when you are talking about Lake CC.

I'm going to pray we get more rain this fall so we'll have a full flowing river for January's white bass run.
I'm getting too old to wade the riffles from pool to pool in 6" of water.

Just one more cast!

Yes, been going pretty regularly the past month and baitfish are plentiful. Even a crappy throw of the castnest will have several shad, perch and small carp on almost every throw. Haven't had a chance to bass fish yet, but maybe this weekend.
It's already dropping pretty fast, but don't see it being more than 2-3 foot low by the time the white bass start running.

Went this morning and did well, no keepers, but lots of 12-13 inchers. Only hit two spots, but at one point, we caught 5 fish in 4 casts (one double on a ratltrap).
Need lake to stay within 3 foot of pool, then catch some more water in the Spring and fill again. The bass and baitfish are thick, so could be really great in a couple years if the water stays up.

Hitting it every day since I live on it. Lol! Either by boat or just a walk down the boat ramp. Catching them pretty steady. Son caught a 3.5 lbr yesterday evening from the jet ski

I went back out in the middle of the day yesterday and we tore them up again. Worked one little area and pretty much hit them on every cast with 2-3 following each one to the boat while landing them....but nothing over 13 inches. Landed one double on a rat-l-trap and had at least 3-4 more doubles come off at the boat. Small, but super aggressive and have tons to eat throughout the rest of the summer.
Choke went up 7+ foot around the same time and flooded a bunch of vegetation, surprised that they aren't seeing an explosion of little bass like Mathis. Are all these 10-13 inchers from the 450K they stocked last year?

The bass fishing sounds like fun, but have you fished for crappie or catfish?

Just wondering how they are doing also.

My crappie tree is still about 6" underwater, so only tried for about 15 minutes before being blown off the spot. Then we saw the schooling bass and caught those for about an hour. Never tried back for crappie and haven't really tried for the catfish, but heard decent numbers were being caught mid-lake.

Tried for the LMB bass on Sunday and caught a good number again, but only one keeper...a chunky 3.5 lb'er. Everything was shallow, but didn't really try any deep areas due to the wind.

Been out of town working all week. Just got home. You are right about a bunch of little ones but yes they are strong little suckers. You get a 2+ lb'er on and it feels like Falcon fish! Gonna try and get the boat out sometime this week. Gonna walk down to the ramp this evening and cast around. Let ya know how I do.
