It took awhile for me to learn the technique this summer, but only one for me:

A drop shot rig on light line, 1/0 or 2/0 hook,

and a straight tail roboworm.

A distant second for summer and slow bites would be a weightless senko.

Brad

I'm going to get 2 spinning reels and add to the mix. 1 for drop shot and I'm going to swallow my pride and use one for skipping under docks.

1. Zara spook puppy for schooling fish and early morning or late evening bite.

2. T-Rig...I can fish it at any depth with any type of plastic.

3. Fluke/Swimbait imitates forage well, fishes through grass well, can catch suspended fish.

I would have to add a senko to this too just cause they catch fish lol.

Have you tried it with a 3/0 or 4/0 hook and a zoom trick worm? You would be surprised how you can still catch numbers and the size tends to be better imo. I don't know why people think you need a tiny nose hooked bait on a bitty hook and light line to drop shot... it's a great versatile technique just the same as any other soft plastic rig and should be used as such not depicted as such a static application... they can certainly be dynamic. I like to cast and drag them, can be awesome change in presentation even shallow.

That said... I love fishing chatterbaits in general so I almost always have one rigged, but for a tough summer bite, I will be ready to work a t-rigged pit boss slow, drop shot a trick worm, and keep my favorite summer crank baits handy and find some good stuff to crash em into. Depends on where I am pulling up to fish.

I need to give this a go. I know that drop shot rigging can be real small but others use it with T-Rig sized hooks and plastics. Great idea!

Thanks! Brad
