Sherri and I decided to hit Waco this morning. Took one of the grandsons with us. He said they needed some fish for supper and I asked if 10 was enough. Yep, that would do.
Hit the first BP at 6:30 and oh boy, bite was quick. 4 keeps and 2 dinks. Headed to second BP and 2 keeps and one dink. I said, Kyle we're over halfway there already. Thought this will be a good day for him to learn jig fishing. He caught the first two keepers. On the way to the next pile, the east wind picked up and the next 5 piles produced nada. Headed to some timber and nada again. Tried one more BP, nada and Sherri said how about the shade at the bridge cause it's getting HOT.
Spent the last hour at the bridge and finished the 10; had 7 dinks total.
Tried the black emerald shiner and pearl ice but the glo-truse slab bug was the meal ticket today. Kyle had the slab bug on and they were on it.
Loaded the boat at 11:30 and truck was reading 95. Time for some AC.

was that you at the twin bridges in the bass rig just before noon? I trolled through in a pontoon with my buddy but we pretty much got skunked all day..at the bridges we pretty much hung around a pylon with no luck on a variety of jigs... still don't know what the hell I'm doing...there was a guy on some scrap styrofoam with a trolling motor that kicked our asses big time... Much respect for you folks showing up and getting on the fish..love the pics... one day I might figure this out..

RetiredHooker: that was us in the red/white BassCat as you came by. We left about 5 minutes behind you.
DW; it's full alright. Plenty of zebra muscles every where. Haven't ventured out on Belton in about 4 months. That's pretty bad since I live about 1.5 miles from the Rogers Park ramp. But fishing on Belton has fallen way off this year. Good friends who keep close tabs on whites and hybrids have been struggling all year. These guys usually catch a limit most anytime. This year, they do well to catch 5 some trips. My last two crappie trips were about the same. Sad situation on Belton.

Fishing those bridge pillow can be very tricky sometimes. I've got one of those Styrofoam kick boats and I must say that it is alot of fun, so much easier to fish when you're so close to the water!
