Head to the coast an was wonder which head boat I should go on. I wish deep sea headquarters had a 12 hr trip on weekends but they dont. So I'm looking at either dolphin docks or fisherman's wharf. Which would you choose?

I have fished all 3 and I would take fishermans wharf over DD any day, no question. Deep sea is a good fishing outfit as well and I would not hesitate to go fishing with them when available.

Yeah I would prefer deep sea headquarters but they don't have weekend 12 hr runs. That only leaves dd or fisherman's wharf.

If the trip is on the Dolphin Express you should go. Capt. Tim is head and shoulders above anyone at FW and better than most at DSH.

I know everyone has their preferences but I prefer Dolphin Docks as well. They look a little run down but they always put us on the fish no matter what the weather is. I have fished all 3 and have always had the best experience with dolphin docks. Captain Tim is a hard working dude who comes down and helps his deckhands when the fishing is hot.

If the 12 hr is on the dolphin express it's a no brainer! That new boat is awesome and brand new!!!!

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

I went ahead and reserver ed dolphin docks for the 12 hr. Fishersmans wharf wanted full price for kids and dolphin was cheaper.

Good luck. Post up some pics, especially if the kiddos get on some fish.

Guess this deal has kinda gone dead. I'm goin down next week and kinda wondering if anyone has been and if/what might be happening on a day trip? Gonna be with the bride, so I wont be able to go out too far and stay over twelve, or should I just stay on the jetties and beach. Might be to early for the reds... Thank you in advance <><

I vote Dolphin Docs but I'm kind of biased as I used to deck hand for em' back in 1999. Capt Tim is the man. Good luck!

Visited with Dolphin Dock today. Still undecided, there is a twelve hour trip Wednesday, but Tim will be out on a 50 hr trip with the express, so it will be one of the other boats. Guess the biggest deal for me is I can't have a boot jug with me for the traditional shot of crown and a cigar on the way in... Prolly be a deal breaker fer me.

Get a Stainless Flask and put your Crown in it problem solved.

So now ya tell me after the trip... roflmao

Had a big time with Dolphin Docks. Went on the 12 hour run, and the whole crew worked their tails off for us in some purdy rough conditions. And put us on some fish. I would fer sure go with them again... thumb

Ohhh man I missed your early post. Years ago I used to ride them frequently. Put a flask in your carry on bag, buy their coke, drink a bit off the top and refill with the crown. Of course you only need the flask ;-)

Looks like a decent catch trip and plenty of fun. Thanks for the report.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?
