Went today to take a peak. They have definitely done some cleanup. I could see where a bobcat has been scraping the road. The road is clear of water now, but they haven't reinstalled the pay machine yet.

Stopped by Tower Bay this morning (Friday 7/31/15) and found a small crew working with a bobcat to clean the area. It looks pretty good although I still believe it will be another 2 weeks at least before they open it up. Road construction on I35 is beginning to encroach on the area/exits around there. The 454b exit is getting a new bridge and it looked like they were getting ready to close the road under the old bridge leading to the Commuter Parking lot at the Dart station. It also looked like they had built a new (maybe temp) road on the south side around the Dart station to accommodate the traffic from the blocked road under the bridge. It is a little confusing so when you go plan on getting used to a slightly altered route.

I was on the lake today and got in the area of Tower Bay. It looked like they opened the front parking lot for the new park but still had the ramp closed. Betting it is 2 weeks at most from opening.

As far as the fishing, bass has been off for me. Sandies and hybrids have been on. Weekend before last, it was good size fish and numbers. Last weekend was smaller fish and numbers. Today was off. A few but quite a smattering. No hybrids, but sandies + 1 BB, 1 catfish, 1 crappie, and 1 drum for two of us. Of the bunch, only 1 sandie of size.

Went by today. Looks like it has dried out enough to open. Just a guess that they are waiting until they can open the dock at the launch since the ramp is surrounded with rip rap and rocks. Just eyeballing it, it looked like it needs about another 1.5 feet for that. That would put the lake at around 3.5 feet high. Service road by 35 is closed under the bridge now and they bypass they built is open.

They did not close it when the dock was flooded over, but it was only a matter of 3 or 4 days before it rose over the ramp. It is nearly 1 ft lower now than when it was finally closed. I dont know why they don't want some of that money arrowhead is raking in right now.

Beats me. I thought it lower than when it closed, but I couldn't really remember. They did install a new gate so they could close off the ramp but keep the new park open.
