I don't know what that stuff is 20 foot down to the bottom but, it grew within a hour of darkness.

That's exactly what I saw last weekend until about 0930 (when the water hit 90 degrees). Then disappeared. Never seen a thermocline do that before.

That picture sucks!!! There are no coordinates on it.

The thermoclines on Lewisville have been real screwy this year. Seen it at different depths depending on where you are at and 100 yds over it may not even be present. Weird.

Now I have no actual scientific evidence to substain my theory but I say it's ghost of crappie that you have savagely and brutally jerked out of that tree. They have come back to haunt it and protect the ones still there from you and that BES.

Come on Stucky, you know me better than that!

Why hell yes I caught that one under the branch at 13 feet. If you would have adjusted your graph, you would had known it was a black crappie.

Can you see where the big white crappie was?

Todd,

My guess?????

All the baby shad seem to disappeared from the surface of the water about the same time as that stuff bloomed.

Yesterday morning and this morning when the crud started dissipating, the baby shad were surfacing and the crappie started bitting like crazy.

So I am thinking it is a plankton bloom along with all the baby shad????

Just what I have been seeing. (Graph adjusted) on Lake X.

Anyway catching crappie is easy as it gets when that stuff goes away.

Hey man, I got the same graph! T. Dub said to me at the Palestine tourney "Why doesn't your graph look like Kirk's?" I said because you're sitting 3 feet away. I'm the only one with the clear pic. fish

It shows up on Belton also. It has to be some organism that is light sensitive. May be because of all the nutrient rich water that came into the lakes late this spring. Belton is slightly off colored where usually it is very clear.

Larry here's you some evidence, big fish are stacked up and the bite is hotter than the air temperature. Easy pickings.
