Whats the craziest catch you have ever had while fishing for sunnies? I'm trying to think of mine, but until then, post some pics of fish that busted up your UL gear while going after gills.

I caught a 4 lbs channel cat last week when catching bluegill for bait. And several smaller ones. A big koi was swimming around in the same pool but wasn't interested in my nightcrawler

I've caught a couple of turtles on a fly rod and dragonfly patterns.

That was quite a surprise catch alright! I bet you thought now what do we have H E R E? LOL. I have caught sunfish before and a bass hit them, and swallowed it, but as I pulled it in, he got loose, since he wasn't hooked himself. That was my biggest surprise. It has happened probably 3 times so far. I usually catch catfish if I get a surprise fish though, sadly. I will never forget the one day, I actually caught so many sunfish, that I was getting bored. It was more like work, instead of fun. I was using crickets for bait. As soon as I'd throw my line out, I caught a fish. I hurried and got another cricket on, and same thing. Over and over and over. It was a rare thing if I didn't get a fish on. I was real excited at first. But then it just became monotonous after a good long while, cricket, fish, cricket, fish...but now I look back on that time fondly. Too many times I get skunked, so that was a good day indeed.
