I have a kitchen pass for a 3 day fly fishing trip anywhere in the contagious 48. No specific date. Obviously want to go at high season for the species. I intend to hire a guide all 3 days. Where would you go? Would you use the same guide all 3 days or a different guide each day? Thanks in advance.

This time of year I'd go north to Colorado or Montana to throw big dries to cutties. I always self guide but if I had the money I'd prob try a couple different guides on some different waters. Hiking to some alpine lakes as well. My 2 cents

Louisiana for those big greasy reds in the marshes.

Or Florida for tarpon.

+1 on colorado, New Mexico would be good too in the higher elevations, especially since you only have three days and you can find some great water in the Santa fe national forest (just under a 10 hour drive). Ive also fish the conejos drainage in the rio grande national forest and had a blast this time of year. We always hiked in or drove in to the brookie and/or cutthroat streams in the higher elevations and had much more fun than we did fishing for Browns on the lower river. The brooks and cutthroats up there are willing to take pretty much anything and if you fish the right water you can catch some big fish. I'm sure this goes for most of the brookies and cutthroat water in higher elevations across the state in Colorado right now.I've also fished some rivers in eastern Washington, Idaho, and western Montana this time of year, fishing was never as good as in Colorado, and I've read that this year those areas are having some issues with heat and lows flows right now. I hope this helped, have fun and good luck on your trip!

I believe I would head to Jackson, Wyoming.

Some unbelievable fishing just on the other side of the Tetons from Jackson, WY. You could base there and have plenty of options.

Or if you've never done it before...go in the winter to Louisiana for some bull reds. Can stay in NOLA and most of the guides will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the marsh.

What do you want to do? Lots of options out there and kinda hard for us to know what your looking for. Fresh, salt, mountains, big game....
Nola for bull reds
Musky with Chocklett or Bohen
Pyramid lake for 10-20lb Lahontans
Everglade snook and tarpon
The keys for the big 3
East coast for albies
Northwest for steel
Lots of options for trout in the rocky mountains
Some big browns will be going in the ozarks in a few months

Book three days with Jeremy Chavez in Cocodrie, La. for winter bull reds. You'll never forget that trip.

+3 very nice fish to be caught, lots of fun especially if you like chunking big streamers.

Me, personally, I would be hitting up Florida somewhere with a guide who has a little poling skiff. I've never fished in Florida and that is a bucket list place for me!

Winter spinner sharks in south Florida with Captain Scott Hamilton is an unforgettable experience.
