Ok going to 30a in august... found plenty of flats guides and a few interesting options. But was kinda in tested in going and fishing the rigs. But I can't find anybody who says they do trips like that....
Anybody got a good guide? Or advise on good trips?
never been to this part of the world any advice would be great

Where is seaside? I was at surfside beach last weekend. We hired a guide and fished in Christmas Bay Area. Did fairly well and learned quite a bit about the area.

I finally know something that I can answer too...... Seaside is basically Destin. Was down there mid June. Hauled boat from Plano. Stayed in Blue Mountain area. Kept boat at marina in Destin. Had a blast and caught a lot of fish. Fished off the coast everyday. Never saw a rig but never ventured further than 20 miles out. Think it's a little different than Texas. Prior to going I downloaded a lot of public artificial reefs and fished those but the guides are fishing their "secret" numbers. Caught a lot of Amberjacks on public numbers 6-7 miles from the jetty but they were out of season. Sure they have been hammered by now. Public spots get hit hard but there are a lot of them. Old tugboats, Army Tanks etc. Reason why the pros are very protective of their spots and where they go. Took a day to learn the ropes. Seemed like they all do it about the same. Sabiki rigs by the bridge for live bait then head out. Drifting over the "reefs"

We were in Destin a couple weeks ago. I know it's about a 30 minute drive (maybe more if the traffic picks up) but If your bringing your own gear go down to the jetty and fish the east jetty. You can park on Gulf Shores by the marina near the public beach access. We went early morning. It is kind of a long walk but worth it. I was using cigar minnows you can pick up at Walmart or there is a tackle shop on 98...think it's called Half Hitch Tackle? They have plenty of dead bait as well as live shrimp. Lots of people catching fish over there. We didn't do that great but I did hook into something that nearly spooled me, then it turned and came straight for the rocks where I ended up breaking off.
We did go on the party boat deal out of Destin and it wasn't worth the time or money. Last year we went on a private charter with Silver King Charters and caught a ton of kingfish, a sailfish and a big shark. We did not fish any rigs and I did not see any while we were out on either trip. The party boat went out 30 miles. Hope this info helps!
