I have been anxiously awaiting for this new line to be available and finally just ordered a couple spools from Tackle Warehouse. Just curious if anyone has fished it yet?

Small thread in the tackle forum but no real feedback keep us updated! Did you happen to order the translucent? Wondering if it's actually clear or white like nanofill.

I have been following it on another forum. One angler has had some luck with the lighter test strengths but had poor breaking strength on the heavier stuff. You can check out his review over on the forums at TackleTour here:

No Bliss with Gliss

Sort of summarizing what this poster found, and he seems fairly unbiased, he noted that the break strengths of two line sizes were demonstrably less than their stated values. He also noted some knot issues. In the end, I think he concludes that if one devalues the stated break strength to compare it with other lines at actual values, the small size (diameter) advantage disappears.

I'd love to hear back how it works for you once you spool it up!

Thanks for the review.

I bought 24 lb which supposedly is smaller diameter than 6 lb mono to put on my spinning finesse type stuff. I will let you know how it works after I fish it a few times.

Look forward to it!

I don't know if there is room in the line market for another super line to "hate."

Nanofil, which I truly enjoy fishing with on finesse rigs, seemed to have that market cornered all by itself.

This new line should be fun to watch and review. If it breaks at half its stated strength thusly surrendering any advantage? It'll die on the shelf I suspect.

The one pro who is endorsing it? Of course he likes it; he's likely getting a check in the mail each month and just doing his job.

Well at 24 lb if it breaks at 12 I would be ok with that because of the small diameter. However, I am not sure how they are claiming it is tougher than braid if that is the case.

Everyone will have to do the math here to move to this new line, this assuming it has good qualities for a presentation. But, again, if 24 is really 12, then one needs to compare 24 Gliss to 12 "other" braid.

One good thing is that Gliss is pretty cheap so we'll likely see some experimenting with it for certain uses.

Mine should be here today and I will spool it up for the weekend. Maybe I will actually catch some fish on it so I can post a review.

So how did we ever catch fish before this came out..I mean all of a sudden if you're not using nano line you will be missing them.

I hate post like this, what is your goal dude? why talk? ok if you aren't interested move along. Don't bash people for being interested in new stuff.

Your post serves no purpose, doesn't further the conversation. You are trying to belittle people but all your doing is showing that you don't have an open mind to new ideas. Just because your narrow minded and loud about it doesn't mean we are, or care that you are...

The line is way way under-preforming in every category from what I've read... Unless they had a "bad batch" in the first run, then they are in major trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to pull stuff off the shelves... I could argue for false advertising with some of the claims they make.

I wasn't even going to respond to his comment but since you did I will explain my opinions on why I am intrigued by the new line. I mostly fish Ray Roberts and before the zebra mussels you could pretty well throw whatever test line you wanted and catch fish but now that the zebras are clearing up the lake it is my opinion that to catch the same amount of fish it will be necessary to throw smaller diameter line. The issue with that is obviously you are going to break off 8-10 lb more often than you would have 17 lb big game so yeah if a line comes out that is smaller and stronger it intrigues me to at least try it.

Has anyone made a micro-braid and coated it with mono/flouro? I know most people use leaders for visibility purposes anyways, but obviously enough people use straight braid or whatever line instead of bothering with leaders, that they continue to advance the market of available options for main line. It seems to me you either have to a) drastically reduce the visibility and enhance the abrasion resistance of braid or b) drastically increase the strength v. diameter ratio of mono/fluoro to catch up to braid

In all honesty, I don't see nay reason for a smaller less visible braid unless they can make it as invisible as fluoro... just run braid main line and a fluoro/mono leader if you want and basically have the best of both worlds?

I agree, I'm intrigued... but just worried the actually isn't going to live up to the hype....

I'm curious how it works for you, let me know, thinner line also makes for better casting distance and typically more sensitivity. I hope it is awesome stuff I'm always up for improving, just seems way under preforming from the tests i've seen

Yeah I am super skeptical but I really want this stuff to be at least somewhat what it claims. It would sure be nice to have 24 lb test at a 6lb diameter that isn't harmful to your gear like braid. I will post my thoughts as soon as I fish it

Sounds kind of like the line LFT Lures tried to introduce a few years back. Breaking strength was much lower than advertised and the labeling was confusing.
