Banker, reeds grow pretty far out into Decker Lake where I was fishing. The method that worked for me today was a bottom rig like you use, but with a very small split shot. I had to throw close to the reeds and slowly reel it back. They were taking the bait probably no more than two or three feet deep. Also, I tied on a 1/32 oz. jig head and fished a worm on it. Worked it the same way, I.e. slowly reeled it back. It was light enough to not go deep while I was reeling, and small enough for the gills to get in their mouth. When I first started fishing, I used a #5 split shot on a drop shot rig, fished it on bottom, and it didn't catch anything. Long answer to say they we we feeding in shallow water this morning.

Yes sir Jagg. I baked some breaded fillets last week. Now I want to bake enough of these for a meal the same way I cooked the fillets, egg/milk wash then breaded with the Zatarains New Orleans Style Fish Fry. My wife likes them best cooked whole.
