Do any of you guys fish that stretch for largies and smallies? Is it any good?

I avoid it this time of year. That stretch of river doesn't catch a lot of wind making it a perfect place for the skiers and wake board boats....

That stretch has never been known for amazing fishing and there is not a lot of access. Things have probably improved with the recent flows. There are a lot of new fish in the river. I have heard good reports from the several miles below Granbury (small striper, whites and LMB). If you have access it's probably worth checking out but I wouldn't be trophy hunting and any smallies would be rare.
