Good haul Robert! I know there's some bigger ones in there as I was seeing signs of them! I think they may be a bit wiser than the dinks! Hopefully we'll bring that to light soon!

Awesome post and great info from everyone. I have never caught a striper or a hybrid for that matter on a fly rod and I am really excited to give it a try. Curious as to what weight fly rod you guys are fishing on the Brazos below PK and Whitney. Would 5wt be okay or would it be better to go with an 8wt? Thanks!

4 or 5 more than enough on pk but they may let water out again after the rain yesterday so check flow. You can get by with the 5 at Whitney but I used the eight there better chance of hooking a bigger striper.

It was great to finally get together with y'all! I really thought we were going to get together on the sand bass run y'all have not had a run in several years finally get water and two days later you have too much water lol. But hey looks like it should be setting up great for next year. After a slow start minus the very aggressive Bass We plugged long it was a great day of fishing for all. We will have to do that again soon. Video turned out great as well.

I want to figure out how to find and catch those big stripers "on the fly" when the water is low.. It is so different when they run the power plant and that rush of water brings the fish up to the dam area. It pays to be patient as Robert demonstrated while I got in the yak and chased the fish around.. I probably would have caught more fish if I had stayed in one place and just waited on the school to pass by.. Even in the fast moving water they move around a lot..

Great fishing with you as always Ben. Another great video as well. Now as far as Robert goes I got just what I deserved. Robert texts me every week with all the trophy fish he catches. I keep telling him to quit aggravating me and that he is just spoiled When the water started flowing I setup right next to him since I don't have much experience fishing fast moving water and never caught a stripper on the fly. Suddenly the bite turns on and Robert catches about 7 fish and I haven't caught a single fish on the fly yet. I'm aggravated and start to change my fly. Robert chirps out "it ain't the fly, it's the presentation". And then he starts taunting me and pulling fish out from under my feet Well that was the last straw. He was given an ultimatum and chose to teach me what he was doing. Just kidding Robert, it was awesome fishing with you. I definitely learned a lot, even if I didn't perfect the technique. It gave me plenty to analyze, read, watch videos and work on. It was a great time and I did eventually catch a good stripper and a couple good white bass on the fly. It was far easier with the rooster tail, LOL.

The funniest was when I was walking down to show you exactly what I was doing with the presentation got about halfway to you and I scared the fish into biting for you :-) at least you did say just like that. Ben you really did miss out on a few chasing those schoolers but fish on the surface is awful fun. Goodoleg was into them again today I'm sure he will post in a bit. We are hitting them again tomorrow he was thinking about hitting the private lakes with terry and I early for big bass as well.

Great day on the water yesterday! I lost count after 25! The last hr of light was just about a fish every cast. No big ones but fun none the less! Headed back out today with Robert! Missed the bucket session he had this morning! Don't think I'll be doing that again haha. Tight lines gents!

Just a short distance down I caught a bunch of stripers and sandbass on Saturday. They were stacked up against the high bank. I caught one every cast on an orange #6 Clouser.
