Haven't heard any reports since Medina came up!
Has anybody been doing any good lately on any species?

I sent a message out to Bandera and when I hear something, I'll post it.

Wonder what the fish population is like out there, seems like it may take a few years for the populations to build up

we've spent quite a bit of time up there this summer - but haven't fished at all. there are tons of bait fish around the docks. have yet to run into anyone that has caught anything to speak of. I put a light on at the dock Saturday night for a few hours, lots of minows (of all sizes - fry up to adults) and some brim. as soon as the lake caught water, the food chain kicked off - thousands of tiny fry in and under the drift. The fingerling bass that were stocked should respond well - but it'll take a couple of years for them to get to the right size.

Thanks for the report!
That's about right what you are reporting about the baitfish. When a lake comes up and covers areas that were once dry the baitfish usually do have an explosion, and any fish left there will soon become fat and sassy.
It's those fat and sassy ones that I figured would be biting.
Probably not many fishermen out and thinking there isn't any fish in the lake, and the one's that are probably are tight lipped! roflmao

I have been seeing several kayakers fishing. The summer recreational boat/jet skis are thick and everywhere. Even a few of those wake boats with folks on surfboards. Too aggravating for me to try to bass fish yet... looking forward to fall though.

Wow, I guess it's just one step above the dead sea for now.

I wouldn't write off ole Medina just yet!
Medina has always been a tough lake to fish, but I'm just not ready to believe that all the grown fish died in that lake.
I'm thinking when the weather cools down in the fall, that you fish the better structure in that lake you'll find some keepers.

Bingo you are dead on Jimbo !!

Grew up just down the road from the ole gal, so I know some history about her. Too much recreational traffic now, so if she is not drained for water and holds her level come fall they will be biting.

Debra cool

There are a lot of people out just enjoying the lake again it will slow down at the end of August when all the kids go back to school. Just give it some time to hot to fish right now go early or late afternoon.
