 Haint Blue paint for a dock?

Has anyone tried painting the underside of their dock haint blue to keep mud daubers away? If so, please let me know how it works for you. Howard "The Dirt Doctor" Garrett recommended it the other day in a radio spot. His website isn't quite as positive as the radio spot, but I'm thinking of trying it. Thanks.

I have painted the under side of my deer stands sky blue and it stopped the paper wasps from building nests there. I'm know a guy that painted the underside of his covered porches sky blue, and he stopped them as well.

Back when porches were actually used, nearly all would be painted light blue to deter the wasp

Blue tape around the water exit on your motor, they will stop it up .

insects and birds think that it is the sky and they don't build nests in the sky.
