I had to take a work trip to San Angelo today, so swung by Gander Mountain in Fort Worth.

Omens were on sale for $70. I am not budgeted for one right now, wish I was, but I sure hope someone takes advantage of this soon.

I believe the omen is the rod and not referring to any of their reels.

picked up an Omen at gander in sherman, there was quite a few rods still there. Also could not resist a daiwa lexa rod for $50.

there is a lot of plastics on clearance sale as well.

Anyone know if either the Arlington or Fort Worth store still has a decent selection of the 13 omen rods? They dont list the ones on sale on their website unfortunately. I need a new medium action one as the one I have now I broke about 4" off the tip and the action just isnt the same after having it repaired.

Stopped by the Arlington location today on my lunch break. Still had a nice selection. Got the 7'2" medium action, regularly $110 for $80. Not a bad deal at all!

I know a lot of people rave about these and I considered one but after I picked one up off the shelf and tested the tip for flexability and it snapped like a toothpick at the 2nd eye I won't ever consider one again. And I'm not talking about an ugly stick tip to butt test. I literally flexed it about 4 inches to see how fast it was.

Brother's just broke the other day on a 3.5lb bass. Was pretty mad to say the least. Guess we'll see how good the warranty is.

Ive broken one too but it was my own fault. Reeled down to get my bait unhung and pushed down to hard and snapped the tip. Not hard for rods to get damaged during shipping. Ive seen all different brands and kinds of rods break. Just basing your experience off that and trashing the rods without ever even trying them is ridiculous IMO. They are good rods for the price. Very light and sensitive. To each their own I guess.

And for the record I did the same test with mine in the store as stated above and it didnt break. And I bent it way more than 4" too.
