I have very little tournament experience and am just now getting into following the FLW. I was watching the 2013 BFL All-American today and was curious, do the guys at this level have sponsors like Chevy, Rayovac, Everstart etc.? I see them with Chevy wrapped boats and Chevy jerseys and was wondering do those big sponsors even sponsor at the BFL level? If I am understanding the FLW website correctly, BFL is like AA baseball, right? I was just surprised that the big sponsors like that would have such a huge presence at that level. Again, I am not familiar with all of this and was curious. Also, do some of these guys buy an FLW tour pro's boat and just keep the wrap? Thanks for any info you can provide. thumb

In the all american, the boats are provided to those who qualified just for that event

Also, they often wear a pinned patch on their jersey provided by the event according to the loaner boat they're running. It's exposure for the event sponsors.

If its televised there is a lot of sponsor money involved.

If it ain't yours don't mess with it!

The anglers drive FLW boats and wear FLW jerseys. I didn't see the recent tourney on TV but used to they wouldn't let you wear your own gear. It had to have their sponsors name on it.

FLW also has some weird sponsors in my opinion.... You see a lot of guys with stuff that Walmart sales all over them.... M&M, frosted flakes, laundry cleaner, repel, snickers wrapped boats. In BASS you see pretty much industry involved sponsors but FLW is different.

Just to clear the air here.... If snickers gave me some cash and a few bags of the fun size bars.... My boat would look like a floating turd with peanuts too.

There is alot more money in sponsorship dollars from non fishing related vendors.

Just look at NASCAR. With tide etc etc.

Only on the last day... they have "Title sponsors"... the other days they wear their personal sponsors stuff...

I'm not sure of the legalities in the contracts but that is what it breaks down into

Correct final day only. When the cameras are around.

Most the top guys make far more off sponsor money than winnings, it's huge business

not as big as it use to be. Sponsor money down and winnings certainly aren't up.

I know one of the guys that finished in the top ten has at least some cabelas sponsorship deal. I'm sure it isn't as high paying as a tour level pro though.
